I feel sick and my thigh is warm?

September 14th, 2010

22 5′5” 11st 10lbs, on anti depressants. I have had a warm sensation under the skin of my right thigh for a week now. I am petrified of blood clots and I read thats one of the symptoms. I am going doctor Monday will I be alright until then??? I am so alone I cry about this.
I have had a lower leg mri scan and a d-dimer couple of months ago, It only started a few days ago but I keep getting scared that it is a blood clot. It is not red, no pain except an occasional twinge here and there in different spots on my thigh, and just feels warm tingly and kinda stingy but not to feel, but underneath.
I take odourless garlic & omega 3 fish oil supps, I only drink water, I don’t smoke or drink, but spend most of my time at home, either going around the house or on computer…what shall I do will i be alright until Monday???

I feel a little sick in my stomach and a little dizzy, I have been very anxious last couple of days, I called the doctor yesterday and I told her my thigh symptoms and she said it was a trapped nerve and take some Ibuprofen that is was nothing to really worry about???
I have been getting a little flutter in my heart rate, every now and again it goes a little fast, like palpitations…I am scared, I keep thinking the warm thigh is a blood clot that is travelling to my heart and going to become a Pulmonary Embolism??? Last night I got a pinching pain in my leg also, I haven’t got it today, it just happened last night????
So should I be panicking??? I get little pinching pain here and there in different parts of my thigh, it’s not as warm today, but still feels a little warm and stingy.

its probably a side effect from the anti depressants,

answer mine ?:)

Are D dimer test accurate?

September 13th, 2010

So here goes I am 28 years old and I have been lightheaded for a few weeks now, nights ago while watching TV I started getting pains in my left leg, mostly the upper part (thigh) but it does go lower at times. It has been a constant pain pretty much, dull achy and crampy. All my blood test are normal, nothing is low. I had a D dimer last night which was normal. I went to the Doc today and he says he wants to do an ultrasound tomorrow to look if there is a blood clot. My leg is not swollen but nothing helps the pain. Should I go to the ER again instead of waiting until tomorrow for the test? I dont know if I have any risk factors but I did have my gallbladder out on 07/08/2010.

I got the test on my leg done but it was negative, however the pain in my leg was mostly gone when I got there to have it done the next day, now I am having strange pains on and off on the left side of my chest, not short of breath and the only other thing I notice is my heart rate is elevated to a little over 90 BPM and this started the same night I had the test done on my leg/ my heart rate has been in the 60s and 70s for months and now its just all of a sudden in the 90s. I have also been lightheaded since AUG 20th but not sure if its related. Could a blood clot move that fast and be causing symptoms for 3 days while in the lungs or is that a pretty fast thing?

Could I be bleeding inside? Would they see that in blood work cause I have has some done recently.

Thanks

A D-dimer is an accurate test especially when an individual has symptoms suggestive of a blood clot. Your D-dimer was normal which is good news but does not eliminate the possibility of a blood clot. Your physician then did a venous duplex doppler study of your legs which failed to find a blood clot. This would make a blood clot anywhere in your body very unlikely. There are far too many limitations in this forum to diagnose someone. There is nothing in your history that suggests that you need to go to an Emergency Department tonight unless your symptoms worsen or if new symptoms develop. I would however very strongly suggest that you call your physician in the morning. I wish you the very best of health and in all things may God bless. JR

Is it a blood Clot help?

September 13th, 2010

Hi! me again, I am 22, 5′5”, 11st 10lbs, I am on anti-depressants for anxiety, I take odourless garlic & omega 3 fish oil supplements everyday. I don’t drink, I don’t smoke, I only drink water, I don’t have salt on my food anymore and I walk my dogs 20 minutes a day. I spend a lot of time in my house, or on my computer, I try to do some exercise or walk around, I fidget a lot, wiggling my toes and feet because I am terrified of getting a blood clot. I went to doctors today (who has an obe from queen!) and told him I was having a warm feeling on the top of my right thigh it felt tingly sometimes, even a little stingy, not roasting hot, just a little warm I wouldn’t say that much warmer from my other thigh. It twinges now and again, but I read on the internet that blood clots have no symptoms and just go to your lungs and kill you!!! and well I am absolutely terrified now, my doctor didn’t seem too worried, he has given me antibiotics for my acne, I have had this little sensation on my thigh and close to my knee for 3 days now, is it a blood clot I am so scared I am nearly crying with fear, I am sorry to be such a pain for asking this but I am petrified, is it a blood clot?

Yesterday when I came home from doctors I did some exercise, today I have an ache in my thigh and well in some places as well, but a little pain in that thigh, I cannot begin to tell you how terrified I am. The surface of my thigh doesn’t feel hot just feels normal temperature, but a little warm and achy, I am so scared because everyone online keeps saying that is a blood clot and I am terrified…am I at risk here? I have had that sensation on my leg for about 4 days now, it isn’t a horrific pain, just a pinching pain every now and again. I also have flat feet and the foot on that leg is sore, I am panicking like mad.

It’s not a clot. You’ll know when you have one. trust me. It hurts like hell and someone else has to call 911 for you.

pregnant and half of body numb for almost a month?

September 12th, 2010

I am 30 years old, Caucasian, currently 35 weeks pregnant with second child. 3 weeks ago, I started having dizziness and numbness in my right arm which quickly spread to my entire right side, head to toe. Even my gums and tongue were numb on the right side. Had some weakness in right arm but otherwise able to use everything. After a trip to the ER, numbness completely gone in about 30 min. except for residual tingling patches in pinky finger and right heel. Over the course of an overnight hospital stay I had CT scan, CBC, Chem 7, EEG, EKG, TEE, and carotid ultrasound done which were all normal except 1) slightly low potassium and 2) some blood test non-specific for inflammation (ESR I’m guessing) came back high (Dr. said normal value is in 20s, mine was in 40s, but they don’t get too worried about it unless it’s in 80s). Neurologist said I had a "TIA-like attack." He couldn’t call it a TIA because with TIA, numbness should completely subside. I was put on anticoagulant (Lovenox) right away (and have been taking the shots twice a day ever since). By the next day when I was discharged from the hospital, I noticed the tingling had spread, covering my entire right hand and right leg from the knee on down. Neurologist said it was probably due to pregnancy. Over the course of the next few days, I had several more numbing attacks while walking, which would cause the entire right side of my body to go numb and it would burn in arms/legs/chest. Each time the attack ended, I was left with more and more residual numbness covering more areas of the body. I also noticed vision problems in that it was hard to stay focused on whatever I was trying to look at, and also at one point noticed black spots in peripheral vision. I went back to the hospital and this time they did more bloodwork, EEG, EKG, and brain MRI/MRV/MRA. All normal. I felt like I was in a brain fog for a few days. Neurologist said due to me being pregnant, likely cause of all of this hypercoagulation. But he’s taking his best guess. OB Dr. listened more to my symptoms (i.e., attacks happened when I was exercising) and said it sounded like MS but unusual for it to be in 3rd trimester of pregnancy. Recently got results of hypercoagulation panel to see if I really do have a blood clotting problem, as previous PT and INR came back indicating there was none. Only abnormal reading was deficiency in protein S (value was 52). I should also mention that I took steroids after the first week of the attacks which seemed to help the numbing attacks stop – have only had one more attack since stopping the steroids. However, pretty much the entire right side of my body is numb. My face/neck only feel slightly numb. I have really tight bands of numbness in chest, arm, and lower leg. Feels like it’s coming from muscles. My lower back and butt don’t feel numb on the surface, but the muscles underneath do and they feel like they’re in constant contraction. As if pregnancy discomfort didn’t make sleeping hard enough…! Anyway, does any one have any advice to give on this? I would sure appreciate some answers. Neurologist is refusing idea of MS since the brain MRI without contrast came back normal.

I’m not sure you’ll get any answers here – this is complex and deeply medical. The only thing I can say, and it’s probably already been considered given that you have neurologists and all, is to make sure you don’t sleep on your back as this can put extra pressure on the nerves in your back.

The only other thing I know is that most people who think they have MS, don’t. I hope that’s a reassurance and I hope your symptoms go away as soon as your pregnancy is over. It’s probably unlikely they’ll go away sooner. Just be really careful and keep going back to them. Have they considered inducing you early?

Sounds scary as hell. I hope things go well for you.

I have no pain, only a little what I call "thumping" nag, and because I read about blood clots intensely I am in a state of panic because people have said that a little warm spot on your leg or thigh IS a blood clot and will kill you!!!

With all due respect, it sounds like perhaps you need to talk to your therapist about new or different dosage of anti-anxiety meds. Listen, you’re panicking over nothing. While you are right that a blood clot can kill you, the chances of that happening, especially with your health, is almost zero. Also, blood clots almost always have symptoms involving pain – if you had serious pain, swelling, and discoloration in your thigh, then you might go see a doctor. It is probably just some slight irritation, maybe even a slight muscle pull. Relax, maybe try some lotion or ben-gay or something. Life is too short to be worried to death about every little thing – our bodies are meant to tell us when something is wrong.

U-God – Lay Down

September 11th, 2010

Album: Golden Arms Redemption
Year: 1999
Track: 11
Track Produced By: John The Baptist
Samples: None

Lyrics:
[verse one: U-God/Golden Arms]
It be the Wu-Tang, Wu-Tang
I got control drop a load
Time to rip shit
Time to rock and roll
I play the block and stroll
Stop and go, cop an old up town choppin
Choppin for dough, prophisise
Monopolize ingrown, pull back with no remorse
The horse power cross bow
Soundin dope we off done the boat felt the flow
Under my belt plenty live
Twenty five in the front row
Just felt the glow, they melt wit in oxin
Rumble in the Bronx
Slugs out start buggin out
Thugs out, tuck they heats in you seats
Honeys suckin me, sweets
Do a 90 in the jeep
Red glorious, might stand victorious
A hundred storty high in story in
Poor men of the street
Jammed the game, to the poor again
Slanted the Wu branded name it’s war again
It’s war again

[chorus]
“gun back”
Lay down
“bullets fire”
Mothafucka lay down
Lay down
Spray sounds
Spray sounds
Spray sounds

[verse two: U-god/Golden Arms]
Subject to sing like the slasher slither
Better through a guy’s status
Apparatus tied to your liver
Melon in never whither
Mount St. Helens swellin
Refreshin fearsome rebellious sellin death to ya eardrums
I’m never tellin, diary, just a firey felon
Coughins I’m nailin
All your frail men on a scale
Your deep space maybe’s
Inject your offsprings wit the rabies
It’s gravy train on the remy, dirty glass
Sponge kidney bath real pissy
Rendevous, wit the fisheys stats
Demolition derby, attourney to rap
Before the jury
A thirty six word remix
Firey phoenix turn tables wobble
Out the pre-cint shake the ground decent
Still waiting for impeachment I’m sea sick

[chorus]
“gun back”
Lay down
“bullets fire”
Mothafucka lay down
Lay down
Lay down
Lay down
Spray sounds
Spray sounds

[verse three: U-God/Golden Arms]
Edit I, sexual preditah
In the burn centah
Tempah, pepper salt
Hashish master piece
Out the vault
Twenty seven years of hysteria, bury ya
In the gear of North America
Placenta crackin it’s crisis
Kosovo tae-bo flow blow out the fo’
World trauma, who got the virus?
Pearl Harbour casino classic free loader
Weed smokin bastards
Gambinos on amino acid
Bio-hazards
Faster the groover the hoover vacume
The child spark remover sag em’
Passionate wars wit U-God the braska to Alaska
Pipe line the right by a massacre
Thought race your barriers
The air craft carriers severe
Spill your mascara dear
The skin lab
Tell your flex everywhere
Soon your words, scum dogs of the universe
When will you learn
You’ll get burned

[chorus]
“gun back”
Lay down
“Bullets fire”
Mothafucka lay down
Lay down
Lay down
Lay down, spray sounds
Spray sounds

Blood Clot DVT the day after – part 1

September 11th, 2010

Just Vlog about my blood clot experience.

Deep venous thrombosis (DVT) refers to a blood clot embedded in one of the major deep veins of the lower legs, thighs, or pelvis. A clot blocks blood circulation through these veins, which carry blood from the lower body back to the heart. The blockage can cause pain, swelling, or warmth in the affected leg.

Here’s a good website to get information about this…
