Shoot at Obama: Carnival Dart Game Controversy

Irvin Good Jr. pulled the target-shooting game after receiving a complaint from a Massachusetts woman attending a fair in Roseto, about 65 miles north of Philadelphia. Good said Wednesday his company, Hellertown-based Goodtime Amusements, won’t offer the game again.

“It was just a big, big mistake in judgment, and I feel sorry about it,” he told The Associated Press. “I can’t take it back, but I can try to make it better.”

The game, dubbed “Alien Attack,” featured a large painted image of a black man wearing a belt buckle with the presidential seal and holding a scroll labeled “Health Bill.” Players could win prizes such as stuffed animals by hitting targets on the image’s head and heart.

The game was featured in late July at the Our Lady of Mount Carmel Big Time Celebration, an annual fair that raises money for the Roman Catholic parish in Roseto.

Kathryn Chapman, 55, of Medford, Mass., who spent part of her childhood in Roseto and was in town for a family reunion, spotted the game and complained to Good.

“What is the message you are sending kids, that if your views don’t agree with somebody else’s, shoot them? I just found it incredibly disrespectful and violent,” Chapman said Wednesday. “And this was the president, the highest office in the country. It was absolutely appalling.”

Good said that he voted for Obama and that the game wasn’t meant to encourage violence against the president. He said the image was conceived and painted by a staffer.

“He just drew it up, and that’s the way it came out,” Good said. “We didn’t talk about it being political.”

Good said he has not been contacted by anyone in law enforcement regarding the game.

Goodtime Amusements has been in business for 26 years, operating carnival-themed fundraisers throughout the Allentown region. The Obama-themed game had been running since April. Good said he had received one other complaint about it before Chapman’s.

The controversy over the game was first reported by The Express-Times of Easton.

Truck Stop Lovin’-Maximum Overdrive

January 03, 2010  //  Posted by: admin  //  Category: Country Belt Buckles

The first cut of Truck Stop Lovin’. When we’re clean and on haybales wearing flannel shirts with big belt buckles chewing on straw, it will be MUCH better.
The idea came from the line “You make love like a hero.” from the movie MAximum Overdrive. Classic 80s cheesy flick, but soooooo good.

Jick I Missed You Ep.36 (marathon 1)

November 18, 2009  //  Posted by: admin  //  Category: Elvis Belt Buckles

Nick’s p.o.v.

Joe and I got to the house, and it felt like the first day of high school all over again. You know that feeling, like you might pee yourself at any minute? Okay, maybe that wasn’t the best analogy. I mean I know I fought for this and was willing to sneak out, but that was because Joe really wants this. I have to admit living alone with my boyfriend is a little scary. I guess Joe and I haven’t really had “the sex talk” yet…who am I kidding?! He’s my boyfriend, not my father! We don’t need to, we just do it! Alright, I’m getting a bit carried away.

Joe: “Okay, why don’t you take your bags to the room. I have a surprise for you. I’ll be up in a minute.”

Nick: “Sure.” I got my bags and walked inside the huge brick house. It looked amazing inside with everything finished. The floors were hardwood, the walls were light green, and as I walked upstairs, I was into all the guest rooms. Everything is so beautiful and open. I can’t believe Joe did all of this for us. When I reached the end of the hallway, I was at our room. I pushed the white double doors open and the sun shone threw the windows. I dropped my bags beside the dresser and walked to the window. Outside was a pool with a diving board. I looked at everything, the sky, the clouds, trying to come up with a reason why I should be nervous…I couldn’t come up with anything, because I know there is no reason. I love Joe and we both want this. I know it.

Joe: “Hey.” I turned and saw Joe leaning against the doorway.

Nick: “Hi.”

Joe: “Wanna see your surprise?”

Nick: “Yeah!”

Joe: “Okay, close your eyes.” I did as I was told and closed my eyes. I heard Joe walk over and felt him hold my shoulders.

Joe: “And stand over here.” He held me as I walked where he was leading me. He let me go.

Joe: “Okay, ready?”

Nick: “Yep.” Joe whistled and I heard something run into the room. Suddenly I was pushed on the bed.

Nick: “Whoa!” I opened my eyes to see a gold fluff. This little cutie was a golden retriever puppy. The dog licked my face and I laughed.

Joe: “So do you like your present?”

Nick: “You got him for me?”

Joe: “Yep.”

Nick: “What’s his name?”

Joe: “Elvis. I know how much you like Elvis Costello and Elvis Presley. I thought it was a good match.”

Nick: “It’s prefect. Thank you so much.” I went over and hugged him. He kissed my cheek. Elvis hopped off the bed, walked infront of us, and pushed us on both of our legs so we fell on the bed hugging. We laughed and Elvis jumped back on.

Joe: “You’re a little trouble maker aren’t you?” Elvis barked and ran out of the room.

Nick: “Thanks Joe. I love him.” Joe propped himself up on his elbow.

Joe: “Do you love me?”

Nick: “Absolutely.” I lefted my ead up and kissed his sweet lips. He kissed back with passion. I layed my hand on the side of his face and he pulled me closer by my waist. His hand traveled to the bottom of my shirt. I kissed him harder and leaned into him more. Joe moved his hand under my shirt and began running his hand over my abs. I moaned quietly in his mouth. I felt Joe smile in the kiss. And that’s not the only thing I felt. We were having a full on hot makeout session. Joe and I were laying on our sides, until Joe rolled ontop of me. He began kissing me harder and removed my tshirt. He kissed my jaw, my cheek, then my neck. I moaned letting him know he’d found my sweet spot. After that, he started leaving little kisses down my chest. Joe sat up, took his shirt off and threw it. Joe leaned back down and kissed my lips. His ran from my chest to my belt buckle. He fiddled with it and it came undone. My jeans weren’t off but Joe was rubbing me outside my jeans. As Joe was about to take off my jeans and boxers, the doorbell rang.

Joe: “Ugh! Really, now?”

Nick: “It’s okay.” He got up, put his shirt on and went downstairs. I got up and found my shirt. As I was walking down the stairs, I did up my pants. When I reached the bottom Joe was closing the door.

Nick: “Who was it?”

Joe: “A delivery.”

Nick: “From who?”

Joe: “I don’t know.” Joe opened a small box and there was a little piece of paper. He read it.

Joe: “It says, “Watch your back.”. Joe and I looked at eachother with a confused and scared face.4
