Mike Johnson’s “Yeah I’m A Cowboy”

Mike Johnson is no stranger to horses or six-guns as these photos of him taken in Maryland, Virginia, Texas, Arizona, and Colorado reveal. Also pictured are some of his many boots and [30] belt buckles. He also has over a dozen cowboy hats.
His song, “Yeah I’m A Cowboy” [written in October 1978] has been making it’s rounds since 1987. Most recently on the September 2006 “Rough Guide To Yodel” CD, compiled by Bart Plantenga, and released by the World Music Network in London, which features the yodel songs of 18 world famous Yodelers.
In December 2007 it was released on Mike’s “Yodeling 40 Years” 2-disc CD featuring 50 yodeling songs written & composed by him, and available from Roughshod Records.

Mike Johnson is Country Music’s No.1 Black Yodeler, and his Yodel Song Archives, containing 114 yodeling songs written & composed by him, and related material, are in the permanent music preservation collection of the Recorded Sound Reference Center at the Library of Congress.
